the article written by Ms. Fernandez is demeaning and outrageous, and there is no excuse for that. not even her claim of writing the article specifically for her target readers. that is ridiculous and an insult. it is short of saying that her so-called "target readers" are just like her...
but what is more demeaning and outrageous are the viciousness of some articles on Ms. Fernandez, and the name-calling that went on relentlessly on several blogs. i cringed at majority of the comments i read, and realized that most of us are no better than Ms. Fernandez.
someone came up with a very apt term for it - blog-lynching. everybody is riding the bandwagon of lynching and thrashing Ms. Fernandez. as i read through the comments, i felt like everybody is trying to outdo each other in their vicious attack of her.
i wonder what will come out of this indignation? we have been indignant so many times, and for so many reasons in the past but with no positive results. they all became "ningas-cogon".
- we were indignant when Ninoy Aquino died. nothing came out of it.
- we were indignant with the Marcoses and their cronies especially after their fall from power in 1986. nothing came out of it. in fact, most of them are again lording it over in Philippine politics.
- we were so indignant with the same old tradpols and their shenanigans that we had several sequels of people power, but nothing came out in any of it. nothing changed, and they may even made matters worst.
