my son and i came from the strip. it was sooo muggy...uggghhh... on top of that, there were so many people it took as two run-arounds to finally find a parking spot. we went to lotus foods, the biggest asian store in the strip, and bought (2) 25-kilo bags of milagrosa rice, (5) packs of longganisa, (2) slabs of pork belly (either for adobo or binagoongan), (2) packets of mama sita's caldereta mix, (1) packet of mama sita's tocino mix, (2) cans of lychees and fresh cloves of garlic. i was looking for ligo sardines but they (again) ran out of it. total amount i paid was $65.80... sometimes you don't realize that little things add up...
we brought everything back to the car so we don't have to drag them along when we go get other stuff. we went to another asian store, a smaller one, and found all the wonderful stuff i was looking for! i got (5) cans of ligo sardines, (1) can of victoria's spicy bangus, and (2) bottles of tuyo!!! i was so happy to see the tuyo...
next stop was wholey's. i got (2) orders of calamari for myself, and cod fillet for my son with fries and onion rings. finally, our last stop was a food stall operated by a Filipino family. i never fail to pass by their stall whenever i'm in the strip. i got a chicken kabob for hubby, a pint of shrimp fried rice, and a pint of pancit bihon. yummm...
they told me about a movie premier for a Gawad-Kalinga fundraising. the movie is "Paraiso", a GK-produced movie specifically made for fundraising. i wasn't able to commit since i'm not sure if hubby would want to go. so i didn't get tickets, and i also didn't ask for a number i could call in case we want to go. true enough, when i told hubby about it, he wants to go... so now i'll look up for the Filipino organization's contact number here in pittsburgh so we could purchase the tickets. i hope i find it.
the forecast last night was a storm would roll in at around 3pm and will move out around 9pm. it is 4pm, and not one sign of any storm... i hope it moves in if it will ever, to cool down the air. it is really hot and muggy outside.
